Fundamentals of Music Theory/ Beginning Recorder
Teacher: Elaine Anderson

3rd-4th Grade Tuesdays from 10:30-11:45.
5th -8th Grade Tuesdays from 9:00-10:15

Class Description
We will be learning the rudimentary skills that are the basic foundations needed to begin playing any instrument. We will explore the elements of music rhythm, notation, staff awareness, note values and identification, timing and much more. We will use our recorders as the vehicle to do this, but a simple fingering chart can open the world to new instruments on your own time once these skills are learned!

We will do this through a variety of games, teaching, playing our instruments and other rhythm tools along with some inspiring time in Bible study as we look at music and following the Master in God’s Word.

3rd-8th graders 5th-8th grade at 9:00am and 3rd & 4th grade at 10:30am Tuesdays
You need NO knowledge of music as this is a beginner course, but one that could benefit someone who has had some music as well.

$25.00/ month per student
There will also be an initial cost of about $13.00 for Yamaha recorders and a small fee for music. Still to be determined. This will be a 9 month course.

Cost and class details are below and classes are already filling.

We will start Tuesday, September 18th!

Thanks so much,
~ Elaine
