Schedule: This class meets 3 days a week for 50 minutes per class.
Course goal is for students to read and analyse traditional literature. One unabridged novel is read, reviewed and essayed per month. Instruction stresses student writing on author intent through use of literary technique and period context. Crafting of writing is challenged in the areas of contention, strength of argument, logical progression and sophistication of vocabulary. Some SAT preparation and scholarship essay is included between novels and in coordination with PSAT and SAT dates. One Shakespeare play will be included in each years curriculum.
