Cor Deo’s core curriculum philosophy for Kindergarten through 6th Grade students integrates the Word of God into each subject.  When we need to use other sources we endeavor to choose those that are in alignment with a Christian Worldview. When students do examine secular material we always compare those teachings with the truth found in the Bible.

We limit each class to 14 students to ensure a quality education and the ability to develop personal discipleship. Currently, our average per classroom is 10 students.

How Our Unique Educational Model Works

Cor Deo and its faculty are responsible for developing curriculum, lesson plans, coursework, instruction, grading, progress reports, report cards, transcripts and diplomas. Classroom instruction is administered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students study at home with their parents teaching. Parents ensure work assignments are carried out at home in accordance with the teachers’ work assignments. Cor Deo teachers are responsible for connecting with parents to communicate and to coordinate this cooperative education model.

Weekly Schedule

School begins at 8:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We ask that students arrive by 8:20 so that they can unpack and prepare for the day. An all school assembly begins at 8:30 a.m. School ends at 3:00 and parents pick up their children from 3:00 – 3:15. Students study at home on Tuesdays and Thursdays under parental supervision and instruction. The time required to complete all assignments may be different for each child. Teachers are flexible and can increase or lighten the workload slightly if the parent, teacher and Principal agree adjustments are necessary.

We are currently using materials published by such companies as A Beka Book, Bob Jones University Press, Apologia, Houghtin Mifflin, NIV Bible, Saxon Publishers, Standard Publishing, and various other publishers.
