Beginning in the 2008-2009 school year, Cor Deo will have Kindergarten through 11
th grade on campus. Commencing with the 2009-2010 school year, we will be adding 12
th grade.
What is the average class size in the elementary?
We limit each class to 14 students to ensure a quality education and the ability to develop personal discipleship. Currently, our average per classroom is 9 students.
What is the daily schedule like?
School begins at 8:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We ask that students arrive by 8:20 so that they can unpack and prepare for the day. An all school assembly begins at 8:30 a.m. School ends at 3:00 and parents pick up their children from 3:00 – 3:15. Students study at home on Tuesdays and Thursdays under parental supervision and instruction. The time required to complete all assignments may be different for each child. Teachers are flexible and can increase or lighten the workload slightly if the parent, teacher and Principal agree adjustments are necessary.
What curriculum do you use?
We work hard at integrating the Bible into every subject. When we need to use other sources we endeavor to choose those that are in alignment with a Christian Worldview. When students do examine secular material we always compare those teachings with the truth found in the Bible. More information on curriculum is provided in the Student Life section of our website.
What are Cor Deo's responsibilities?
Cor Deo and its faculty are responsible for developing curriculum, lesson plans, coursework, instruction, grading, progress reports, report cards, transcripts and diplomas. How involved are parents in the school?
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students study at home with their parents teaching. Parents ensure work assignments are carried out at home in accordance with the teachers' work assignments. Cor Deo teachers are responsible for connecting with parents to communicate and coordinate this cooperative education model. More information is provided in the

Is Cor Deo affiliated with a specific church or denomination?
Yes. Cor Deo is affiliated with Southwest Hills Baptist Church but is an independent school that accepts applications from students from a wide range of churches and denominations.
Are any spiritual qualifications required of staff members?
Administrators, teachers, and all other employees of Cor Deo must give testimony to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and must be faithful members of an evangelical church.
Does Cor Deo conduct parent interviews prior to student admission?
After your application has been reviewed, we will give you a call to schedule a parent interview. The purpose of the interview is to develop a personal relationship between family and school, explain the policies of Cor Deo and the sharing of information which would enable the school to best meet the child's needs.
What is tuition cost? And is there a price break for multiple students in one family?
Tuition rates vary depending on the age of your student. These rates may be adjusted each year. Payments may be paid over either a 10-month or 12-month period. Payments pre-paid for the entire upcoming school year, prior to the April 1st of the current school year, are discounted. Additionally, a discount is available to parents with multiple students attending Cor Deo Christian Academy. Does Cor Deo have financial aid?
Cor Deo does have a tuition assistance fund. An application must be completed to determine the available level of assistance. Further information about the tuition assiatnce fund policy is provided under the Financial Aid page of the Prospective Parents section of the website.
Are there resources available to the parents to monitor the child's progress, or just report cards?
A web-based student information system, available through our website, is used for grades 1- 11. This system allows parents real-time access to their student's grades. It is beneficial to parents, teachers, administrators, and to the students who can track their own progress. As soon as any information is added or changed it's available to students and parents. When teachers enter grades and attendance information for their class, that same data is immediately available.
How does Cor Deo communicate with families?
In the elementary grades, communications from teachers are sent home each day in the students folders. The Cor Deo enewsletter is sent via email every month. The Calendar section of the website is updated regularly to highlight various events. Lastly, parents with students in 7th – 11th grade can access academic information via handbooks and email.
Are uniforms required?
Uniforms are not required for Cor Deo students; however, we do have a dress code policy that is enforced. Please refer to the Parent-Student Handbook for specific dress code policy.
Does Cor Deo offer extracurricular activities?
At Cor Deo we are a family of believers committed to encouraging and helping one another. Cor Deo does not offer extra curricular activities but among our families there is a wealth of resources that is shared. We can direct you towards activities such as, Music, P.E., Art, Sports Teams and any other area of enrichment that a parent desires for their child.
