Grandparent’s Day on Wed. March 7th

Cor Deo will have our annual Grandparent’s Day on Wednesday, March 7^th from 8:30am-10:30am. Grandparents will be able to visit the classroom, hear what is going on at Cor Deo and learn how they can lift the school up in their prayers.

There will be two special events during this time.

The Cor Deo Singers

The schedule of events will be:

8:30-8:45- Grandparents attend morning assembly
8:50 -9:40am Grandparents observe classroom
9:45-10:00 – Refreshments for Grandparents
10:00 -10:30 – Grandparents meet with principal with prayer time

2012-2013 Tuition Schedule Released

The 2012-2013 tuition schedule has been released and is available to view and download. The school board has decided to keep the tuition at the current level for the upcoming school year. As you may be aware, the board reduced upper grade tuition so that all grades Kindergarten through 12th grade pay the same $2,700 annual tuiton cost. This decision was made to provide relief for the many multi-child families that participate in the student body. Part-time upper grade classes will continue to be $500 per class.

Registration dates have been set for enrolling for the 2012-2013 school year. Based upon your status, the dates are as follows:

February 1, 2012 – Registration Open for returning students only
February 8, 2012 – Registration Open for Cor Deo siblings
February 13, 2012 – Registration Open for existing waiting list
February 15, 2012 – Registration Open

Application requirements have changed this year so please read instructions on applying to Cor Deo.

Home Sweet Home (Almost)

Hey. Well yesterday I said we were waiting for a flight to Dover, Delaware. It was really our only choice, and we wanted to at least get across the big blue sea I prayed soooo hard that we would get on, and the Lord answered. We all packed up, and got ready. We took the bus to the plane, and then slowly filed on. We all got settled, and got comfortable. 15 minutes passed. Then 30… what’s going on??? Then over the intercom, the pilot said” We are sorry to inform you that we have a problem with the engine. We expect it to be fixed in the next hour”, ( which in military language means 2-3 hours) . We were tired, and this was terrible news. Well we waited, and yes 2 1/2 hours later we lifted off. We spent 9 long hours. My grandma worked on her crossword, read, slept, ate, slept, and just sat. I listened to music, watched Tom and Jerry and slept 3 hours. My grandpa slept, ate, worked crosswords, read the Bible, and whatever he could do to pass the time. Finally at 10:30 East Coast time ( 1:30 a.m. Germany time) we landed. Exhausted, but at the same time pressing closer to home, we went through all the process, and then decided our next course of action. There were no flights to home, so we flew at 3:40 am to Maryland, where we are waiting right now. We are preparing to get on a flight at 1:40 or leave at 3:40 and get to Seattle at around 8:40 or 5:40 West Coast time. Depending on if we get on this flight, and how tired we are, we may just drive home. I hope so!!! Can’t wait to be home And can’t wait to see all our friends

Join us for Christmas Dessert on December 14th

Bring family and friends to our Cor Deo holiday tradition Christmas Dessert on Wednesday, December 14th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. As a school, we will celebrate our Savior’s birth through performances by students in grades K-6 elementary classes. There will be plenty of dessert for all family and friends after the performances.

Stuck in Germany

Hi everyone. Well we have been trying to get out of Germany for 3 days. We have just been waiting. Yesterday there was a flight to New Jersey, and all we really wanted to do was get to the states. So we were all ready and when they called 53 firm seats we were sooooo happy. But then they started calling names. And suddenly it seemed as though the whole terminal had emptied out. Then we heard them call our names!!! We ran up, got checked in, and then went to sit in the waiting room with all the other passengers. We were just about to go out to the shuttle when a man came out and told us the flight was canceled. I was like your joking right? Nope. He was telling the truth. They had filled the whole plane with cargo so there was no room for people. I was very disappointed. We went back to the hotel to get a room, but there were none, and the terminal was closing, so we had no idea where we were to go. Then this man that had been so kind to us the 2 nights before, waved us down and got us a room. It was very nice. So then, this morning we are waiting for a flight to Dover, Delaware ( AGAIN ) They say that they have 72 firm seats on this aircraft, and it doesn’t look like there are 73 people. I guess we will see. Anyway, once we get to Dover we are going to try to get home. It may not be until Tuesday or Wednesday, but please pray that we will get home as soon as possible. Over 55 families and nearly 200 walkers of all ages participated in the event that included the walk-a-thon, raffle prizes, looks of food and special music performed by Matt Hamilton and fellow Cor Deo high school students.

Coming Home!!!!

Hello!!! Well we are at the airport, waiting to get a flight home. We were palnning on going to Spain and Portugal, but due to my grandpas diabetes, we will have to come home. Please pray for hom. His blood sugars are 3 times what they should be. He is very tired and weak and the doctors are very concerned. We were ready to come home early anyway, because we are all tired and ready to be in our own beds, in our own house We are waiting for a flight that is supposed to leave tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. It goes to South Carolina, then to Washington, which is where our car is parked. If we don’t get this fliight there is not another one until Saturday and that doesn’t even go to the West Coast. We will let you know howit went ( hopefully in person ) See you all soon!!!
