Frequently Asked Questions
About our hybrid Christian school model, tuition and enrolling.
It is a Christian school that shares the school week with parents. At Cor Deo, students have classroom instruction with Cor Deo teachers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays they work at home on the assignments their teachers set, with a parent guiding them. It is still a five-day-a-week school. See a week at Cor Deo.
No. In a co-op, parents usually plan the curriculum and do most of the teaching. At Cor Deo, the school hires the teachers, chooses the curriculum, writes the lesson plans, and sets the schedule and homework expectations. Parents partner by guiding the home-day work, and teachers and parents share the grading depending on the grade and subject.
Currently kindergarten through 10th grade.
Students are on campus Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30am to 2:50pm. Tuesday and Thursday are home days.
It depends on the grade. These are the school’s estimates, and every child is different:
| Grades | Your involvement | Time on home days |
|---|---|---|
| Kindergarten | High | 1–2 hours |
| 1st–2nd | High | 2–3 hours |
| 3rd–4th | Medium | 2–4 hours |
| 5th–6th | Medium | 2–5 hours |
| 7th–8th | Low | 3–6 hours |
| 9th–10th | Low | Varies |
See a week at Cor Deo for what your involvement looks like at each stage.
No. Cor Deo provides all of the curriculum and lesson plans. Your role on home days ranges from reading directions, explaining and correcting work in the early grades to encouraging and checking in with older students.
Tuition is kept affordable because a parent is home working with the children on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so families need a plan for those days, especially for younger students. If your situation is unusual, talk with the principal on a tour.
For 2026-2027, tuition is $6,200 a year for kindergarten through 6th grade and $6,325 for 7th–8th grade, paid in 12 monthly payments. Please contact the office for 9th–10th grade. The full tuition schedule, discounts and payment plans are in our enrollment packet.
Yes. The second child receives a 10% discount and the third child and beyond 20%. Paying in full by July 1 saves $100 per student. Returning students are eligible for tuition assistance through the School Board (board@cordeoacademy.org).
Yes, a $400 non-refundable deposit per family is due with the application to hold your child’s place. It is deducted from your tuition.
Yes. Each full-time family gives 35 volunteer hours a year (45 for families receiving tuition assistance). Unfulfilled hours are billed at $20 per hour at the end of the year.
Cor Deo is a Christian school whose goals are to immerse students in the Bible and to partner with parents. As part of enrolling, parents review and sign the school’s Statement of Faith, and the application asks about your church. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color or national and ethnic origin.
Start by scheduling a tour with the principal. Then return the application with the $400 deposit to secure a spot, and complete the enrollment forms. New families also provide shot records (CIS form), parent background checks, the most recent report card and test scores, and the student takes an academic assessment before grade placement. Everything is on the enrollment page.
Cor Deo is not staffed to serve students with learning disabilities or significant behavioral needs. Please describe your child’s needs candidly on the application, and talk with the principal so we can consider together whether Cor Deo is the right fit.
Yes. The flexible home days give families room for music lessons, sports leagues, hobbies and other subjects, and the school strongly encourages it. Cor Deo doesn’t offer its own sports or music programs at this time; families arrange these on their own.
