Who we are

Cor Deo Christian Academy ("we", "us") is a K-10 Christian school in Portland, Oregon. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website (the "Site") and through enquiries made from it.

Work we perform for clients under a services agreement, including any client data, is governed by that agreement and its confidentiality and data-protection terms, not by this policy.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in a form, email or call us, we collect what you provide: typically your name, organisation, job title, email address, phone number and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our server records log data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. With your consent, analytics tools also collect information about how you use the Site (see our Cookie Policy).

What we don't want. Please don't send sensitive or confidential data through the Site's forms.

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal.
• To send the news and updates you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to understand which content is useful.
• To comply with legal obligations and to protect our rights.

We do not sell, rent or lease your contact details, and we do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use it. These tools set cookies and receive information such as your IP address, device and browser details and the pages you view. They run only if you accept them in our cookie banner.

Google processes this information under its own privacy policy. You can also opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or in Google Ad Settings.

If we add other analytics or advertising partners, we will list them in the Cookie Policy before they are switched on.

How we share information

We share personal information only:

• with service providers that help us run the business (website hosting, email, forms, analytics), under contracts that limit their use of it to our instructions;
• when the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety or those of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.

Where information is processed

We are based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and elsewhere.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as we are in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally no longer than three years, unless you become a client or the law requires us to keep it longer. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, after which Google deletes it.

Your choices and rights

• Cookies: you can accept or decline analytics cookies, and change your choice at any time, from the cookie settings link in the footer.
• Emails: unsubscribe using the link in any email, or ask us.
• Your information: you can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.

To make a request, email info@cordeoacademy.org or call 503-442-8053. We may need to confirm your identity before we act, and we will respond within 45 days.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect information with encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take care to protect what you send us.

Links to other websites

The Site links to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
